Just hours after he scored a brace against Finland to bring to an end France's winless run, Antoine Griezmann was unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player for the second time, and he made clear he hopes to rediscover the nice relationship he had with the club's fans.

Whether that will happen immediately is unclear, especially after the unrest which came as a result of the manner of Griezmann's original departure to Barcelona.

"I think there has been a very nice relationship between the fans and myself, I want to find that again," Griezmann declared to the press.

"I will give everything as has always been my style of play on the pitch, I will give everything for the fans who are both in the stands and watching on TV. Hopefully we can live through magical evenings together once again, that is my main goal, I am here to give everything."

Diego Simeone is known to have a good relationship with Griezmann, and the forward was quick to offer his thanks to the Argentine.

"It is thanks to him, he has greatly influenced my career, I lived my best moments at this club, both on a professional level and in my private life," Griezmann continued.

"He has always been a huge support for me and my family. It's a great honour for me to play for him."

Griezmann was visibly delighted to be back in the Spanish capital, a sentiment which he echoed in his press conference.

"I'm very happy, I have a smile from ear to ear," Griezmann explained.

"I haven't slept for ten days because I've been waiting for this moment. I'm enjoying it and taking advantage of it with my family."
